Sunset Brightness

This week I have had the pleasure of working with a fabulous client on 2 custom pieces. Above you can see the first piece I did for her. It is a take on the below piece (which is called "A Thousand Kisses") but with a sunset sky and a little bit of blue. She is giving this piece as a wedding gift and I so hope they love it.

Also, in case anyone was wondering, when working on custom pieces I try to get the piece as close to what the customer envisions, which is sometimes different then what I see...and that's ok. Below is the original fabrics I used. The rolling green hills and the green and white fabric were traded out for blue ones and I think it was a great choice. PS- I still love the green and white fabric...so bright. :)

Sunset River Trip - original fabric on wood art
This is the second piece she commissioned. It is a take on the original river trip which I explain below that I only have in print now. The sunset goes from warm yellow and orange to a red then purple. I think the sunset makes it a whole lot of fun and I hope this makes her smile (because this one is for her self) :)

Here is the original River Trip - which can be found only in 8.5 x 11 archival prints or postcards in my shop. The original was bought as a gift to Ben from Humbleglory who I never see around etsy anymore but he was a super nice guy.

That is all for now...I must go entertain my toddler who refused to nap today. It's either NO nap or a 4 hour nap but no inbetween. Ha

In the Middle of a Blue Evening

"In the Middle of a Blue Evening" - new in my shop now...here
Random little blue facts about me...
I have always been a blue girl.
I got married with blue fingernails (and they are blue right now).
The first car I ever bought and still have is blue.
I know that when I was younger I always told myself when I grow up I would have a room in my house that was all blue...my "blue room". I am still working on that one.
In all my drawers of fabric the blue one is the fullest.
I am a sucker for my 2 year olds sweet blue eyes.

Every night around the time that daddy should be home London keeps an eye on the back door. If I even utter the word "daddy" he goes running in that directions and waits. In the picture above you can see that Scott did not even have time to get his jacket off after he got home the other night. So sweet...both of them!

London and I were rolling around on the floor being silly and we captured these shots. I love that we can catch a moment in time with the snap of a button.

Hoping everyone has a great week. I am trying to figure out what we are going to get into, whatever it is I am sure it will be fun. :)

Baby Fawn Girl with Blossom

Fawn drawn onto the fabric

Baby Fawn eating blossoms- In-Progress

My first attempt at drawing a fawn...and here it is. We have a couple shower to go to tomorrow for a freind of my husbands who is having a girl. After some research we learned that they will not be doing the PINK thing (I didn't think they would) rather a more Sage green nursery. Both the mom and dad love the outdoors so I want to have a pine tree somewhere in the mix. What goes better than a baby girl fawn eating blossom. Hope they like it. Here are some in-progress photos. It will be finished up tonight with the second coat of polyurthane.

Petals in the Wind

I am so ready for the cool fall weather. I made this abstract piece with the FAll in mind!!! It has finally cooled off a bit at night here but the days are still humid and warm. I am keeping my fingers crossed for some snow this winter (we had one day last winter of snow).
This piece of art is for sale in my Etsy shop and is Fabric on Wood
